Faridabad family accused of killing, burying woman over dowry

India

In Faridabad, Tannu Kumar was allegedly murdered and secretly buried by her in-laws following ongoing dowry harassment.
After marrying Arun Singh two years ago, Tannu faced repeated demands for dowry and even had to move back to her parents' home for a year.
When she returned, hoping things would improve, the harassment continued.
Her in-laws reportedly dug a 10-foot pit outside their house and buried her body there, then falsely claimed she was missing for almost two months.
Despite her father's concerns about the suspicious pit, his complaints were initially ignored by police.

Body finally found after nearly 2 months

Police have arrested Arun Singh and his father Bhoop Singh; both are being questioned while searches continue for other family members involved.
Tannu's body was finally found after nearly two months and sent for post-mortem before being given to her family.
The investigation is still active as police work on gathering evidence and witness statements in this tragic dowry-related homicide case.
