Faridabad woman accused of assaulting cook
In Faridabad, a woman named Deepali Jain has been booked after allegedly assaulting her cook, Shyama Devi, and using casteist language against her.
The incident happened on June 17 inside Jain's home, where she reportedly slapped Devi—her cook for over two years—eight times.
Police registered an FIR under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and other sections.

CCTV footage captured Jain slapping Devi repeatedly, using caste-based slurs, and even trying to hit her with a mop before family members stepped in.
Devi said she was attacked after opening the door for the driver, which left her nose bleeding and face swollen.
The police are now investigating; they've served a notice to Jain but haven't made any arrests yet as they review evidence from the viral video.
