Free Aadhaar biometric updates for kids: What's changing?

Starting October 1, 2025, parents of children aged 7 to 15 can update their child's Aadhaar biometrics for free.
This one-year offer from UIDAI is set to help children keep their records current as they grow.

Why does this matter?

Aadhaar biometric updates are required at ages 5 and again at 15, since things like fingerprints and iris scans change as kids get older.
Previously, the free update was only for younger or older age groups—now it covers everyone from 7 to 15 too.

How do you get it done?

Just head to any Aadhaar Enrolment Centre or Seva Kendra with your child's Baal Aadhaar and your own card.
