Two alleged members of the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar-Virender Charan gang were arrested in Delhi on Thursday. The police said they were planning to murder stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui. The suspects, identified as Rahul and Sahil, hail from Panipat and Bhiwani in Haryana. According to investigators, they were working under the orders of foreign-based gangster Rohit Godara, who was working with Goldy Brar and Virender Charan.

Suspects did recce in Mumbai, Bengaluru
The police said the suspects had done a recce in Mumbai and Bengaluru to track Faruqui's movements. The comedian is a popular figure, having won the reality show Bigg Boss in 2024 and boasting 14.2 million Instagram followers. Rahul, one of the arrested suspects, was wanted for a triple murder case in Yamunanagar, Haryana, in December 2024.

How police nabbed suspects
The police acted on a tip-off about the presence of the shooters near New Friends Colony. They set up a trap on Kalindi Kunj-Pushta Road and spotted a suspicious motorcycle around 3:00am. When asked to stop, the suspects opened fire, leading to an exchange of gunfire in which both were shot in their legs.

Incident comes amid rising attacks on celebrities
Both injured suspects were rushed to a hospital for treatment after their arrest. The police also seized firearms used in the encounter and a motorcycle from the scene. This incident comes after two shooters on a motorcycle opened fire outside actor Disha Patani's house in Bareilly on September 12. The Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang claimed responsibility for the attack.
