Delhi: Cabinet approves government jobs for Delhi sportspersons

On Monday, after some deliberation, the Delhi cabinet approved government jobs for people who excel in sports. As of now, not much is known about what posts will be offered, levels of compensation, and selection criteria. However, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced that rules pertaining to government jobs for sportspersons will be announced in a month. Here's more.

In August, the Delhi cabinet increased cash incentives for sportspersons
The move comes on the back of an earlier decision by the Delhi cabinet to promote sports in the national capital. In August this year, the Delhi cabinet increased the cash incentives for sportspersons hailing from the national capital for their achievements in tournaments like the Olympics, Asian Games, and the Commonwealth Games. Cash incentives were also increased for participants in the Para Games.
