Government to introduce offline Aadhaar verification soon
Soon, you won't need to carry a physical Aadhaar card for ID checks—India is preparing to launch an offline Aadhaar verification system using QR codes.
Managed by UIDAI, this update aims to make things like entering housing societies, restaurants, events, and even student exams a lot smoother.
The announcement came during a recent stakeholder briefing.
How it works and why it matters
The new system will be built into an updated Aadhaar app (now in final testing), letting you verify your identity for stuff like hotel check-ins or movie entries right from your phone.
Organizations that want to use this tech have to register and pay a small setup fee.
Privacy rules are being prepared to keep your data safe as the government pushes for more digital convenience across services.
