Gujarat CM changes event venue to allow wedding ceremony
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel switched the location of his public event in Jamnagar so Sanjana Parmar's wedding could go ahead at City Town Hall on November 23, just as her family had planned.
The family was nearly done with preparations when they learned the CM's program was scheduled for the same spot, which left them worried about disruptions.
Quick action and a personal touch
When security started setting up for the CM's event, the family reached out for help.
Patel personally reassured them—"the family's worry 'must be regarded as our own'"—and asked his team to move his own program instead.
The bride's uncle shared that finding a new venue during peak wedding season would've been nearly impossible.
Locals appreciated the gesture
Officials shifted the government event right away, letting the wedding happen stress-free.
Residents called it a great example of people-first leadership and said it made them feel more connected to their government.
