Haryana election: Schools to be closed for preparations today, tomorrow
In preparation for the upcoming Haryana assembly election on Saturday, all schools across the state will remain closed on Friday and Saturday. This decision by the Haryana government is due to many of these institutions being designated as voting centers. The two-day closure applies uniformly to all government, semi-government, and private schools in the state.
Haryana assembly election: Single-phase voting and result date
The Haryana assembly election 2024 will be contested in a single phase on October 5 from 7am to 6pm. The results are set to be announced on October 8. The campaigning period for these polls concluded on Thursday, with parties making their final appeals before the election day.
Over 2 crore voters to take part
More than two crore voters are eligible to participate in this election. To accommodate these voters, a total of 20,629 polling booths have been established across the state. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Jannayak Janta Party-Azad Samaj Party concluded their campaigning with rallies and roadshows on Thursday in a final appeal to voters before the decisive state elections.
