Heavy rainfall prompts landslide warnings in Himachal Pradesh

India

Himachal Pradesh is facing intense monsoon rains, with the IMD issuing a red alert for 10 out of 12 districts.
The downpour has shut down 259 roads—Sirmaur and Mandi are hit hardest—and caused power cuts in about 612 locations.
Water supply has also taken a hit, and even the Shimla-Kalka rail line was briefly stopped due to fallen debris.

Three more lives lost in last day

The heavy rain isn't just an inconvenience—it's led to landslides, damaged highways, and sadly, three more lives lost in the last day. The monsoon death toll since June 20 is now at 20.
Schools in several districts have closed for safety.
If you're in or around Himachal or planning travel there, it's definitely a time to stay updated and careful.
