Hyderabad woman says cab driver harassed and confined her after party
After leaving a birthday party in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, a woman reported that her cab driver started asking personal questions about her religion, complimented her, and even said he wanted to marry her.
Things got worse when he suddenly changed the route toward Tolichowki and unfamiliar lanes, telling her she couldn't go back.
Quick thinking led to rescue; concerns over cab safety grow
Acting fast, the woman shared her live location with friends and alerted police—who tracked down the car and rescued her.
The driver, Shaik Mujjaheed (originally from Burma), was identified and investigated by police.
The incident has sparked calls for stricter safety protocols on cab drivers in Hyderabad, especially after the woman raised worries about illegal immigrants operating cabs with government support.
Police are investigating the incident.
