
IMD predicts favorable monsoon withdrawal from central, eastern India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a favorable monsoon withdrawal from most parts of central and eastern India in the next two to three days. This includes Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and the entire Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. The IMD also expects partial withdrawal from West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, and Telangana.

Heavy rainfall expected across South India
The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall across South India over the next four to five days. States, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall from October 12-17. Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls are also expected over Tamil Nadu and Kerala during this period.

Fishermen warned against venturing into Arabian Sea
The remnants of cyclonic storm 'Shakhti' are still affecting weather conditions over the west-central Arabian Sea. Other upper air cyclonic circulations are also present over Assam, southern Bangladesh, Andhra Pradesh, and the southern Arabian Sea. Fishermen have been advised against venturing into the west-central Arabian Sea and adjoining coastal regions off Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep on October 12 and 13 due to rough sea conditions.

Delhi-NCR weather forecast
The IMD has also predicted mainly clear skies for Delhi-NCR till October 14. Daytime temperatures are likely to remain between 29-33 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures will be around 18-21 degrees Celsius. Both the minimum and maximum temperatures are slightly below normal for this time of year, according to the IMD.
