India and Bangladesh hold rare security talks after Hasina seeks asylum

India

India's NSA Ajit Doval and Bangladesh's NSA Dr. Khalilur Rahman just met in New Delhi—their first official chat since ex-Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina fled to India and was later sentenced to death back home.
This meeting happened right before the big Colombo Security Conclave (CSC), where security heads from five Indian Ocean countries are set to talk strategy.

Why does it matter?

Rahman inviting Doval to Dhaka is a notable move, especially with relations tense over Bangladesh requesting Hasina's return from India.
Both sides are keeping dialogue open as the CSC gears up to tackle issues like maritime safety, cyber threats, and disaster relief—showing that even with political drama, regional security cooperation is still on the table.
