This isn't just about history: it's a nod to how India uses Buddhist heritage to connect with neighbors.
The event echoes the Ladakh showing in 1950, after Kushok Bakula Rinpoche convinced Prime Minister Nehru to send the relics to Ladakh.

These relics have played a major role in boosting morale after tough times like the 1947 Indo-Pak war and have been shown across Asia, from Sri Lanka to Mongolia, to strengthen bonds with Buddhist-majority countries.
