India has officially protested to China after Prema Thongdok, from Arunachal Pradesh, was held and mocked by Chinese immigration at Shanghai airport.
Officials claimed her Indian passport was "invalid" because of her birthplace and kept her for 18 hours without food or explanation, even though she had a valid visa to travel onward.
