Indian Army's 'Ram Prahar' exercise simulates cross-border operations

India

The Indian Army just wrapped up a massive drill called 'Ram Prahar,' where over 20,000 troops practiced how they'd handle a cross-border situation with Pakistan.
Held near Haridwar, the exercise focused on preparing responses to potential provocations from Pakistan and ensuring coordination across land, air, and cyber domains.

Why this exercise matters

Led by the Kharga Corps's Ram Division, the drill used everything from fighter jets and Apache helicopters to tanks and drones.
Uttarakhand was picked because its landscape is a lot like Punjab's border areas, making the practice more realistic.
Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar explained that these drills are all about staying sharp for real-life challenges along the Punjab border, while Lt Gen (Retd) Mohan Bhandari pointed out they help break through tough defenses if needed.
All in all, it's about keeping the army ready for whatever comes next.
