Indian government cracks down on Naxal funding, seizes ₹92 crore

India

In a big move against Naxal groups, the Indian government has seized assets worth ₹92 crore through a coordinated effort by the NIA, ED, and state authorities.
This is part of a larger push to end Naxalism by March 2026.

Why should you care?

Naxal violence has dropped sharply—affected districts are down from 126 in 2014 to just 11 now, and violent incidents have fallen over 70% in the last decade.
The asset seizures target how these groups get money and info, while new police stations, roads, and mobile towers are making these regions safer.
The government says it's committed to making India Naxal-free for good.
