Indian Railways invests 341cr to deploy Kavach across Ahmedabad division
India
Indian Railways is investing ₹341 crore to roll out Kavach, its homegrown Automatic Train Protection system, across more routes.
The plan covers 598km in Gujarat's Ahmedabad Division and aims to prevent collisions, stop overspeeding, and keep trains safe even in bad weather or low visibility.
Ambala division to get 201cr Kavach
Another ₹201 crore will bring Kavach to 811km in the Ambala Division, protecting busy routes like Ambala Cantonment-Ludhiana and Kalka-Chandigarh-New Morinda-Sahnewal that connect Haryana, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh.
With Kavach automatically applying brakes during emergencies and guarding against signal errors, train journeys should get a lot safer, and a bit less stressful for everyone on board.
