Indian students evacuated from Iran amid tensions
India just pulled off a major evacuation—bringing back 517 people from Iran as tensions with Israel heated up.
Many of the evacuees were medical students from Jammu and Kashmir, who landed safely in Delhi late Friday night.
The whole mission kicked off after Iran gave the green light for Indian flights to use its airspace.
How the rescue mission unfolded
With help from Mahan Airlines and support from the Indian Embassy in Tehran, flights were quickly arranged—even one coming in via Turkmenistan.
The Ministry of External Affairs coordinated everything to make sure everyone got home safe.
