JeM, TTP links busted in 5-state operation against Pakistan-based terror networks
Security forces just wrapped up a major anti-terror operation across five states, targeting the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) network.
Acting on October intelligence, teams moved in from November 1 to 10, seizing nearly three tons of explosives in a joint operation involving Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana Police and arresting several people connected to Pakistan-based groups.
Explosives found in imam's house
Among those arrested were individuals linked to JeM and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.
Raids at hospitals and colleges turned up an AK-56 rifle and pistols, while over 2,500kg of explosives were discovered at an imam's house in Mewat.
The Gujarat ATS arrested two youths from Uttar Pradesh and a doctor from Hyderabad for allegedly receiving weapons via Pakistani drones.
Online radicalisation of youth
In Rajasthan, Maulvi Osama Umar was arrested for alleged links with Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and radicalizing youth online.
The busts have exposed a wider support network within India, so investigators are now digging deeper into how these groups operate locally.
