Kanpur woman arrested for extorting over ₹8cr from 12 men
Divyanshi Chaudhary, 30, has been arrested in Kanpur for allegedly running a major extortion racket.
She reportedly married four men—including two bank managers and a police sub-inspector—and then threatened them with fabricated rape cases to force them into paying up.
By moving money through 10 different bank accounts, she took advantage of her victims' fear of legal trouble and social backlash.
Police dig deeper as government officials found among victims
The case came to light after her husband, Sub-Inspector Aditya Kumar Lodhaw, noticed suspicious transactions and tipped off authorities.
Several of the 12 men targeted were government employees or police officers from Kanpur, Meerut, and Bulandshahr.
Investigators say some Meerut police officials even helped Chaudhary or received money from her accounts.
With over ₹8 crore involved and more suspects likely, police believe this network could be bigger than it seems.
