As Mohammed Salim, their president, points out, bike taxis handled over 8 crore rides last year and help keep the local economy moving.

Riders are struggling to make ends meet

With no proper rules in place, many riders like Imran M. are borrowing money just to get by. Others have switched to food delivery jobs, but it hasn't been easy.
The association has reached out to leaders—including the Chief Minister—but so far, there's been no reply.
They're hoping for an open conversation soon to protect jobs and make things safer for everyone.
