Kerala CM V D Satheesan pushes for Sabarimala safety measures
Kerala's chief minister V D Satheesan is pushing for preparations to be completed on priority before the beginning of the Sabarimala pilgrimage season.
He's focused on making things safer and cleaner, calling for a joint control room at Sannidhanam, sanitation drives at Pampa and transit camps, plus checks for building stability, fire safety, and electrical systems.
Sabarimala Aravana production and transport
To handle the huge crowds, the Travancore Devaswom Board will boost Aravana production to 325,000 containers daily (with 7,000,000 ready before pilgrims arrive).
There's ₹5,510,000,000 set aside for road projects.
Indian Railways is adding 300 trains; KSRTC will lease 500 busses.
Expect easier digital room bookings, 600 new bio-toilets, and a freshwater plant at Seethathode, so no more tanker trucks.
Sabarimala police deployment and health centers
five thousand police officers will be on duty and 22 emergency health centers set up to keep things safe.
The chief minister also wants old clothes cleared from Pampa.
Plans will be reviewed again in October to make sure everything's on track.
