Leopard claws woman's hand in Bengaluru park bus safari
India
A leopard clawed a 56-year-old woman's hand during a safari at Bannerughatta Biological Park in Bengaluru on Thursday.
The animal tried to get into a non-AC safari bus, but staff acted quickly and the woman, Vahitha Banu, got immediate medical care.
She's now stable, according to park officials.
Non-AC bus safaris paused
After this close call—and a similar leopard incident in August involving a 12-year-old boy—the park has paused all non-AC bus safaris for safety checks.
New steps like window meshes and special photo openings are being added to vehicles.
Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre has instructed officials to warn visitors more clearly on tickets so everyone knows what to expect and stays safe.
