Science students who have completed Class-12 with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) have a lot of good career options today, contrary to the belief that they have limited options.
The University of Delhi, one of the most renowned educational institutions, offers a range of courses in various streams, including those for PCB students.
Here are some popular DU courses PCB students can opt for.
MBBS is the most sought-after course by PCB students
Among PCB stream students, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) remains the most popular option after Class 12.
Delhi University also offers the five-year MBBS program; its University College of Medical Sciences, Lady Hardinge Medical College, and Maulana Azad Medical College offer the course.
Selection is done on the basis of the eligible candidate's National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) score.
Bachelor of Dental Surgery is another popular course
After Class 12, PCB stream students can also pursue the five-year Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) undergraduate course in the field of dentistry in order to become a dentist.
BDS is the most sought after undergraduate course in the medical stream, after MBBS.
DU's Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Science offers the course and students need to clear the NEET exam for admission.
Other courses in medical stream like BAMS and BUMS
Apart from MBBS and BDS, PCB stream students can also go for other courses in the medical stream like Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS) and Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery (BUMS).
DU's Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbia College offers these courses. For BAMS and BUMS too, the selection is done based on NEET scores.
Science courses after Class-12 are also among popular options
Students who have completed Class-12 with PCB subjects can also pursue a career in sciences.
They can opt for Bachelor of Science (Honors) programs offered by DU in various fields like Botany, Microbiology, Zoology, Anthropology, Biological Sciences, Geology, Food Technology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences/Applied Life Sciences, and Biomedical Science.
However, the minimum score/marks required for eligibility may vary from course to course.
Psychology, home science are interesting fields students can go for
Psychology and home science are other interesting fields which PCB students can opt for.
DU's courses in psychology include BA (Hons.) Applied Psychology, BA (Hons.) Psychology, and BA Programme (Discipline Courses) Psychology.
DU also offers BSc (Pass and Hons.) Home Science and BA Programme (Discipline Courses) in Home Science (covering Food Technology, Apparel Design & Construction, Family and Child Welfare, Nutrition & Health Education).
