Love turns fatal in Ghaziabad: Tragic end to forbidden affair
A 23-year-old named Ankur was allegedly kidnapped and murdered in Ghaziabad on June 7, after refusing to break up with his girlfriend—who happens to be the sister of one of the accused.
Three men—Shanky (also known as Shivam), Saurabh Kumar, and Sonu—are accused of luring Ankur out under false pretenses, abducting him, and then shooting him multiple times.
Accused tried to cover their tracks by burning his scooter
After the murder, the group dumped Ankur's body in the Hindon River and tried to cover their tracks by burning his scooter and clothes.
When Ankur went missing, his family filed a complaint that led police to arrest Kumar; during questioning, he admitted to the crime and implicated Shanky.
Shanky was later caught after allegedly firing at police during recovery efforts.
Sonu is still on the run as police continue their search for both him and more evidence.
