Victim's body discovered after reports of burning vehicle
The gruesome discovery was made after a call was received at Dial 112 around 12:30am on Sunday. The caller reported that a vehicle was ablaze on Vanavada Road. Police and fire department officials rushed to the spot, where they found the charred remains of Chavan inside the vehicle. He had been stuffed in a sack before the vehicle was set on fire, reports said.

Police launch investigation, conduct post-mortem examination
The police have taken possession of Chavan's body and handed it over to his family after conducting a preliminary investigation at the crime scene. Accprding to PTI, the victim's family identified the body through his ring. People close to the deceased said they attempted to call him on Sunday but his phone remained turned off. While searching for him, they learned about a burned vehicle and a body.
