Maharashtra's water release decreases

With less rain than expected, Maharashtra has dialed back the amount of water released into the Krishna river—now down to 67,597 cusecs, about 5% less than just a day ago.
This move is set to affect how much water reaches big reservoirs like Almatti and Hidkal, making careful management even more important as dry weather continues.

TL;DR

Reservoirs across Karnataka at a glance

Almatti's Lal Bahadur Shastri reservoir is now at just over half its capacity (68.3 out of 123 TMC), while Hidkal's Raja Lakhamagouda reservoir is nearly full at 48.9 out of 51 TMC.
Renuka Sagar dam isn't doing as well—holding only about a third of its max (12.2 out of 37 TMC).
With inflows dropping across the board, keeping an eye on these levels will be key until rainfall picks up again.
