Thane factory explosion triggers massive fire, over 20 evacuated

Several people are feared trapped after an explosion at a chemical factory in Dombiwali, Thane, near Mumbai triggered a fire.
The incident occurred on Thursday when a boiler inside the factory, situated in MIDC Phase 2, exploded.
Witnesses reported hearing three distinct blasts from the factory premises.
Nearly 30 people have been rescued so far from the burning building.

Dr. Nikhil Patil stated, "We are waiting for more people to be rescued. The workers on the day shift were inside the factory when the explosion occurred."

Meanwhile, the fire department has deployed around 15 engines to control the raging flames, with officials estimating over four hours needed to completely extinguish the fire.
