Massive rescue operation frees 211 child labourers in A.P.

India

In a major rescue this June, Andhra Pradesh officials freed 211 kids and teens who were being made to work in factories, hotels, brick kilns, construction sites, and shops.
Of those rescued, 21 were under 14 years old and the rest were adolescents between 14 and 18—many from different states.

Authorities took legal action against employers

The operation was led by Commissioner M.V. Seshagiri Babu with support from police and welfare teams.
After the rescue, all the children were brought before Child Welfare Committees and enrolled in school for care and education.
Authorities took legal action against employers—recovering nearly ₹2 lakh in unpaid wages—and warned that hiring kids for hazardous jobs could mean up to two years in jail plus heavy fines.
This is part of Andhra Pradesh's ongoing push to end child labor for good.
