Meghalaya honeymoon murder plot unveiled
India
Meghalaya Police have uncovered a wild murder plot involving Sonam Raghuvanshi and her alleged partner, Raj Kushwaha. The plan? Kill Sonam's husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, then fake Sonam's own death by burning another woman's body to cover their tracks. Five people, including Sonam and Raj, have been arrested so far.
Accused traveled across states after committing murder
The group started plotting back in February in Indore and moved through Assam before Raja was killed at Weisawdong Falls on May 23. After trying to destroy evidence and travel across states, their scheme unraveled when police tracked them down in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Investigators are confident they'll file charges within 90 days as they piece together what happened.
