Meghalaya murder case: Wife, lover, and relatives arrested
In Meghalaya's Renggigre village, police have arrested a woman, her lover, and her two brothers for allegedly murdering her husband, Pirot R Marak.
The case surfaced in May after an FIR was filed, leading to the exhumation of Pirot's body in June.
Family tensions had been high due to the wife's affair and recent elopement.
Body exhumed for investigation
A post-mortem confirmed fatal injuries on Pirot's neck and private parts, pointing to homicide.
After the victim's brother filed an FIR questioning the sudden death and quick burial, police exhumed the body for further investigation.
All four accused are now in custody while police work to piece together exactly what happened.
The case has sparked conversations locally about domestic violence and crimes linked to infidelity.
