Modi to hoist flag at Ayodhya's Ram temple on November 25
India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hoist a saffron flag on the soon-to-be-completed Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya this November 25.
The 22x11-foot flag, made of parachute fabric and silk, will go up on that day.
The ceremony takes place atop the temple's 161-foot spire.
Why should you care?
This event officially opens up the entire temple complex to visitors for the first time, not just its inner sanctum.
With nationwide live coverage planned, it's expected to draw huge crowds and give Ayodhya's local economy—think hotels, restaurants, travel and street vendors—a major boost.
Extra security and smart traffic management are in place as Ayodhya gears up for one of its biggest moments yet.
