On November 11, the state reported 1,052 farm fires—the most in the country that day.
Since mid-September, MP has logged 3,569 cases, just behind Punjab's 4,507.
Experts say this jump is linked to a later paddy harvest in MP compared to other states.

Districts like Narmadapuram and Seoni are seeing the most fires lately. Just last week alone, MP had nearly 3,000 new incidents.
Authorities are trying to crack down by filing FIRs and handing out fines (like ₹15K in Rewa), but experts think stronger rules and more support for farmers are needed to address the rising number of incidents.
