Mumbai man charged for drugging and raping woman
A man and his wife in Mumbai have been booked after allegedly drugging a 32-year-old woman, assaulting her, and then blackmailing her with videos and photos.
The couple had met the victim last year and invited her to a hotel in December 2024, where they spiked her drink.
When she woke up, she realized what had happened and found out they were using the footage to force her into further unwanted encounters.
Accused used victim's credit card for online shopping
The accused didn't stop there—they used the victim's credit card for online shopping and took some of her gold jewelry.
When confronted, they threatened to leak the recordings.
After she reported them, police charged the couple under new criminal laws for sexual assault by deceit, poisoning with intent to harm, extortion, and intimidation.
