Mumbai religious sites declared 'Loudspeaker-Free'

Mumbai has just removed all directional loudspeakers from religious places, following a Bombay High Court order that said loudspeakers aren't essential for any religion and highlighted the need to keep noise in check for everyone's health.
The city is now officially "loudspeaker-free," according to Police Commissioner Deven Bharti.

TL;DR

About 1,500 loudspeakers taken down across Mumbai

About 1,500 loudspeakers were taken down across Mumbai, with police working closely with religious and political leaders to make sure the process was fair and peaceful.
While permanent loudspeakers are out, temporary permissions can still be given for special events—just no reinstalling them full-time.
This move aims to help everyone enjoy a bit more peace and quiet around the city.
