Mumbai's CNG shortage: MGL says full supply back by Tuesday
India
Mumbai's public transport hit a rough patch after a CNG shortage left autos and cabs struggling, with long lines at pumps and fares shooting up across the city, Thane, and Navi Mumbai.
The disruption started when the CGS Wadala plant paused supply, but Mahanagar Gas Ltd (MGL) now says things should be back to normal by noon on Tuesday—so there's finally an end in sight for frustrated commuters.
What else to know
Many of the city's 398 CNG stations had to cut hours or shut down temporarily, though home gas supplies stayed steady.
MGL suggested commercial drivers switch fuels for now and assured everyone they're working hard to fix things quickly so daily routines can get back on track.
