"They have also informed that abuse of drugs is rampant in the Delhi University campus area. They have given information about drug peddlers and others involved in the racket which is further being verified," said SK Jha, the NCB Deputy Director General (North).
Arrested students reportedly ratted out others involved in the racket
The four were arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS). The perpetrators were identified as Aniruddh Mathur, Tenzin Phunchog, Sam Mallick, and the alleged kingpin of the operation, a particular Gaurav from Hindu College. The NCB said that Gaurav was sourcing cannabis from Himachal Pradesh and distributing it in the Delhi University campus area where drug abuse is rampant.
