New depression brewing in Bay of Bengal, Cyclone Senyar fades
A fresh depression has popped up over the southwest Bay of Bengal near Sri Lanka, and the IMD says it could soon turn into Cyclone Ditwah.
This system is expected to move toward Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and southern Andhra Pradesh, bringing a risk of heavy rain and strong winds.
Meanwhile, Cyclone Senyar—once a historic storm—is now losing steam as it drifts toward Malaysia and Sumatra.
Why should you care?
Weather alerts are out for several Tamil Nadu districts (including Chennai) from November 27-29, so folks there should be ready for downpours and gusty winds.
In Malaysia's western states, warnings are up too—expect rough seas and possible flooding as Senyar passes by.
If you're in these areas or have plans there this week, keep an eye on updates and stay safe!
