NIA: 5 doctors linked to ₹26L Red Fort blast funding

India

The NIA has uncovered that five doctors allegedly pooled ₹26 lakh to finance coordinated terror strikes, including the Red Fort blast.
Muzammil Ganaie, one of the key accused, admitted to pitching in ₹5 lakh.
The group also included Adeel Ahmad Rather, Muzaffar Ahmad Rather, Shaheen Shahid, and Dr Umar Un-Nabi Mohammad.

How the money moved and what it bought

Dr Umar was handed the funds while Adeel and Muzaffar contributed ₹8 lakh and ₹6 lakh each; Shaheen gave ₹5 lakh and Umar added another ₹2 lakh.
Ganaie confessed he bought 26 quintals of fertilizer for about ₹3 lakh—later turned into explosives under Umar's guidance.
Materials like ammonium nitrate, urea, and remote detonators were also purchased.
Some suspects are now in custody; others are still being tracked down by investigators.
