No more waiting in lines: Update Aadhaar from home
Big changes are coming to how you update your Aadhaar!
Starting November 1, 2025, you can update details like your name, address, or mobile number online—no more standing in line at Aadhaar centers for most things.
The system will verify your info using linked government databases such as PAN, passport, or voter ID to make the process smoother.
Linking Aadhaar with PAN is now mandatory
If you need to update biometrics (like fingerprints), you'll still have to visit a center. Fees have changed too: it's ₹75 for regular updates and ₹125 for biometrics, but online document updates stay free until June 14, 2026.
Also, linking your Aadhaar with PAN is now mandatory from November 1, 2025; if you don't do it by December 31, 2025, your PAN gets deactivated on January 1, 2026.
Banks are making it easier with e-KYC via OTPs and video calls—so updating just got a lot less stressful!
