Nowgam Police Station blast ruled accidental, not terror-related

Jammu & Kashmir's Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has confirmed the November 14 blast at Nowgam Police Station was an accident, not a terror attack.
The explosion happened while forensic samples were being collected, leading to nine deaths and 32 injuries.
An official inquiry is underway to figure out exactly what went wrong.

Investigation ongoing, support for victims promised

Forensic and security teams have locked down the site for a detailed investigation. Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat also pointed to an accidental cause.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has promised help for affected families and made sure injured survivors are getting priority treatment in Srinagar.
Farooq Abdullah has called for a thorough independent review of the incident.
