Operation Sindhu: India's evacuation mission in Iran
With tensions escalating between Israel and Iran, India has flown back 517 of its people from Iran under Operation Sindhu.
The embassy in Iran set up emergency contacts to help out, and India is also stepping up for neighbors—helping Nepal and Sri Lanka get their citizens home too.
TL;DR
Most evacuees are students
Most of those evacuated were students—like the 290 from Jammu and Kashmir who landed in Delhi after leaving Mashhad.
Another group came via Ashgabat, while earlier, 110 students from Urmia University reached Delhi through Armenia.
The embassy is still urging everyone to stay alert, limit travel, and keep an eye on official updates as the situation unfolds.
