That the Karni Sena has a problem with 'Padmavati' is well-known, but it seems it has issues with everyone who associates themselves to it in any way. Their wrath has now turned to Aparna Yadav, daughter-in-law of SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, for dancing on 'Ghoomar'. Meanwhile, the controversy has reached a parliamentary panel, which has called a meeting over it. Here's more.

What did Aparna do to annoy the Karni Sena?

According to reports, Aparna, married to Prateek Yadav, was at her brother's engagement function in Lucknow on November 23. At the ceremony, she is seen dancing on 'Ghoomar' on the dais with some other women in the background. Incidentally, Yogi Adityanath-led UP is one of the six states that have banned the movie till "objectionable scenes" are removed.

'If 'Padmavati' wasn't made, could Aparna have done this?'

The Karni Sena is not amused. "Youths learn from such movies. If "Padmavati' wasn't made, could Aparna have done this? She should stop all this or become a nachaniya," said Sukhdev Gogamedi. "She is a daughter of a Rajput, and one who supports us. Further she is in public life. She should not be offending sentiments this way," said Lokendra Singh Kalvi.

Former minister and actress Beena Kak was not spared either

It's not just Aparna though. The Karni Sena has also slammed former tourism minister and actress Beena Kak for backing 'Padmavati'. "Bina Kak will have to pay. Rajputs are her biggest supporters. We will show our ire in the coming polls," said Mahipal Singh Makrana, Sena president. Kak was seen as Salman Khan's mother in 'Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?' and 'God Tussi Great Ho'.

MPs' meet to discuss 'Padmavati' issue, Bhansali expected to attend

Meanwhile, 'Padmavati' director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has reportedly been summoned to a parliamentary panel meet to discuss the controversy. Censor board chief Prasoon Joshi is also expected to attend the meeting at 3pm. Actors-turned-lawmakers Paresh Rawal (BJP) and Raj Babbar (Congress) will be present. The I&B Ministry is planning to brief MPs on the challenges it is facing regarding the movie.
