Pakistan's inquiry on BrahMos purchase rebuffed
At a Dubai defense expo, Dr. Apathukatha Sivathanu Pillai—the scientist behind India's BrahMos missile—was asked by a Pakistani general if India would ever sell the missile to Pakistan.
Pillai smiled and replied, "For Pakistan, it would be free of cost."
His quick comeback made it clear that such a deal isn't happening, especially given the tense relationship between the two countries.
World's fastest supersonic cruise missile
BrahMos is the world's fastest supersonic cruise missile, built by India and Russia.
It can hit speeds up to Mach 3 (about 3,700km/h) and strike targets with pinpoint accuracy from as far as 650km away.
Unlike many missiles in the region, it can be launched from land, sea, air—even underwater—giving India a major edge.
There's still some room for humor
Dr. Pillai has led BrahMos development since day one and is focused on making India more self-reliant in defense tech.
His witty reply shows there's still some room for humor—even when rivals are talking serious hardware.
