Disaster impact
40 dead, 5 missing in eastern Nepal
The heavy downpour has resulted in devastating landslides and floods in eastern Nepal. At least 40 people have died, and five are missing due to the natural calamity. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority of Nepal confirmed that most casualties were from Ilam district in Koshi province, where 37 deaths were reported due to landslides triggered by Saturday night's torrential rain.
