PM Modi considers visiting Manipur post-ethnic conflict

Prime Minister Narendra Modi might finally visit Manipur, over two years after the state faced major ethnic clashes.
The idea came up during a recent trip by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, who met with top officials to talk relief for displaced people and start planning for Modi's possible arrival.

Preparations underway for possible visit

Imphal is seeing some quick upgrades—roads are being improved and there's talk of new helipads—hinting that preparations are underway.
Even though things have calmed down a bit, travel on main highways is still tough and President's Rule has been in place since February.
Meanwhile, the central government is talking with Kuki-Zo groups to help restore peace, and many see Modi's potential visit as a hopeful step toward normalcy.
