PM Modi heads to Oman: Big trade deal and more on the table

India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Muscat from December 17-18, with plans to seal a major trade agreement called CEPA.
The deal, already approved by both governments, could be officially signed during his trip.

Why should you care?

CEPA is set to open up new opportunities for India and Oman beyond just oil—think manufacturing, pharma, renewable energy, and logistics.
It promises easier business rules and lower tariffs for Indian exports.
Negotiations have included discussions on safeguards for Indian workers in Oman and could lead to more projects together, like joint investments and better port access.
With $10.5 billion in annual trade projected for 2025, this visit could mean even bigger things ahead for both countries.
