PM Modi to inaugurate railway projects connecting Kerala, Tamil Nadu
Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to kick off several big railway projects in Kerala, all about making travel smoother between Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
This push is part of a bigger plan to upgrade southern India's transport scene, with help from ministries like Railways and Road Transport.
What are the projects?
Three stations, Shoranur Junction, Kuttippuram, and Changanassery, are getting a serious makeover under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Expect new buildings, more space to wait, lifts and escalators for easy access, plus free Wi-Fi—all for ₹52 crore.
On top of that, the 65-km Shoranur-Nilambur line will be electrified (₹90 crore), which means faster trains and less pollution.
And there's a new train service launching between Palakkad and Pollachi—good news if you are commuting or planning a quick getaway.
