PM Modi to participate in 17th BRICS Summit in Brazil
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to join world leaders at the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro on July 6-7.
This year, the group is getting bigger—Indonesia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and UAE are joining Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Saudi Arabia will also be there as a guest.
The summit's happening at the Museum of Modern Art.
Leaders to discuss climate action, fairer healthcare access, and more
Modi's trip is part of a five-country tour focused on boosting ties across the Global South.
At BRICS, leaders will talk about fairer healthcare access, using local currencies for trade (so less dollar-dependence), climate action, and making sure AI is used responsibly.
There's also a push to reform global systems so emerging economies have more say.
These talks could shape how future jobs and opportunities look in a changing world.
