Pro-Iran rallies spark after prayers in Kashmir, Kargil
India
After Friday prayers, people in Shia-majority areas of Kashmir and Kargil hit the streets to show support for Iran's leadership during ongoing protests there.
Marchers carried portraits of Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei and chanted slogans against the US and Israel.
Why does it matter?
These rallies were all about pushing back against foreign interference in Iran. Despite tough weather, crowds marched to make their voices heard.
PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti backed the protests, criticizing the US for meddling and calling out India's government for straining ties with Iran. She also urged help for Kashmiri students in Iran.
Local cleric Aga Syed Hassan called on global media to report fairly on Iran's situation and stop spreading misinformation.
